I am thinking of useing blogs im by bussiness wepsites, to uptade customers ect..
Would this help or hinder my rankings?, or probly have no effect?

Ideally, for SEO purposes you'll have such a project on a different server, as Google at least has some algo in it's pocket for devaluing internal links - namely in the form of Hilltop and LocalRank as we know it.
It also makes good business sense for human users - if your server suffers a fatal error, you can still communicate directly to your customers through the other site.
Ideally, such systems - such as business support forums - will even be run from a completely different datacenter.

If you are sure you can keep your blog up-to-date and provide important content to your visitors, then it's a nice thing to have. But don't do it if you're not going to post often to the blog.
