I'm a member of a forum that has several members complaining about some older websites breaking with a new browser that was recently released. The members of the forum consist mostly of normal Internet users and not technologists.
I am happy to report that none of my web pages have broken with any of the newer browsers that are out now.
The point is that making standards compliant pages (aside from a few CSS hacks) pays off down the road.
