External Keyword Links

I have a 'links' page on my site where I link all of my internal pages and also my client's index pages - linking by keyword phrase. Would there be any benefit/drawback to listing their top 5 keywords on the one page, with all links going to their index page?

If you wanted to try it, incorporate the words into an explanation of what the site does and make it readable to people who are looking at your clients to decide if they want to hire you or not.
My personal opinion is that multiple links to the same page from a single page aren't all counted (my guess is that they take the first occurrance) but that is just a hunch- there's really no good way to test it.

You could link to their site using a crazy word in the second link. If they show up on the search results for that word then you know they are reading the second occurance too... In fact you can use ten different random made up words as 10 different links and then see how many of those words that page shows up for

After reading Scottie's reply I realised I should have explained my 'links' page a little better - sorry.
From my index page, I have a clear .gif that points to 'links' so the only way it can be found by visitors is by viewing my source code or they could stumble across it. The intention of this page is for SE's to index my entire site and those of my clients.
The multiple keyword links is something I've thought of trying but just didn't want to do the wrong thing by my client.

Make sure that the engines can see everything that your visitor can see. If it makes sense for your users to see those links to all your sites (and it sounds like it doesn't, or you wouldn't hide it) then do it on the up and up.
If you have to hide something, just remember that the search engine engineers have already seen every trick in the book. You may think you thought of some great new idea to get indexed, but it's totally old hat for the engines and they know just how to deal with it effectively.
I'm going to move this to the search engine no-no's category, as this is definitely one of those!
