Hi there.
Does anyone know of a good site that can test the workings of your site? By that I mean, a robot.txt checker to make sure that my site can actually be indexed.

There's a robots.txt checker inside Google's Webmaster Tools if you have your site set up and registered there. That's probably the best, because it'll tell you the results exactly as Googlebot would see the file.
