What do you think about these?

My problem is trying to implement all this. It seems rather complicated and involves rewriting large chunks of your site. Is this better to have done from the start?

I think that content belongs to the firefox script firebug?

It should be quite simple to know if you have a very slow page or not and in most cases some of the techinical options are probabaly not sensible for most users. For example minfiying scripts etc should only really be undertaken by experienced coders and programmers.

Just do the basics in most cases
