I'm a small business owner, and attempting to do my own SEO. I've learned a lot from this and other forums as well as Jill's newsletter. Great resources!
I have a question I'm not sure how to phrase, but I'll do my best...
My domain is schatzistreasures.com (it's a dog and cat gift site). About a year ago, on the advice of my web designer, I bought another domain name - dogcatgifts.com. It recently came up for renewal, and I renewed it. With the new changes in Yahoo, I was checking to see where I come up on certain search terms. I noticed that some of my pages were coming up indexed with the dogcatgifts.com domain name instead of the schatzistreasures.com name. (e.g. instead of the search results showing www.schatzistreasures.com/dogbeds.html they are showing www.dogcatgifts.com/dogbeds.html) I checked with Inktomi, and the same thing is happening there. At Google, only the schatzistreasures.com domain name is being indexed. My question is - is this a problem in the eyes of the search engines? Can or will I be penalized for this?
Thanks for any help you can give.
