Karon my <1 wasn't a percentage it was a count!

I like this line

Bottom line? Donít sacrifice the quality and conversion power of your copy to chase search engine rabbits. In the end, it wonít be worth it

But I found it interesting that the guidelines suggested putting your keyphrase 1-2 times in each paragraph, that is certainly an indirect KD for sure!

I even thought twice in every paragraph would actually be too much, is this not the case?

I worry more about KD in terms of spamming, rather than trying to reach a formula, the last thing i'd want to do is trip the spam filter!

They are guidelines, 1DMF, not hard and fast rules. When it comes to writing SEO copy, I've said it 1,000 times and I'll say it again, "Use Your Judgment."

That's what people hate so much about learning to write SEO copy. There are very few hard and fast rules. MUCH of what has to be done is a judgment call. That's why experience and proof of performance is so vital when choosing an SEO copywriter.

That's why, in the article you're referring to, I say,

"I don't do any or all of these in
any particular order. I don't do them all every time I write. I am
NOT saying that you should do all of these things every time you
write."

And why I also say,

"When it flows, I include keyphrases roughly once or twice per
paragraph."

Which is why I hate writing copy, but for some reason people seem to think , because i'm IT literate, I can get no.1 in G! for even a page that doesn't have any copy text on it what so ever... look at this request I got...

QUOTE
I attach a list of 'keywords' that xxxxxx and I have thought up as we understand that these can be positioned in our Web Site so that they can be picked up when some one 'searches' the Web? We appreciate that neither of us are IT competent and we therefore would very much welcome your help and feedback as to the best way to have these included.

Now obviously keywords need to be on the page, but i'm the last person to advise anyone on how many times, what keywords to use or where to put them!

Copy text writing is an art, i've tried to explain to them I could write a manual, but not a novel, the two are in two totally different leagues.

The problem I then have is if they do decide to employ a 'professional', how do we know we are getting the real deal? or it's just some shmuck who thinks they are gods gift to Google?

copy text is the one area that I hate, because there is no hard and fast metric rule that can be applied!

Respect to the Karonmeister!

Well, I always characterize my thoughts on all this SEO stuff as my opinions/beliefs. And I always encourage everyone to test things for themselves so they can form their own beliefs.
