the new pages live in /dir_site03/
Second tier directories and file names/content have changed dramatically.
I have set up this rewrite directive in my .htaccess file:
RewriteEngine on RewriteRule ^dir_site02/(.*) http://mysite.com/ [L,R=301]
so as to send all spiders and visitors looking for the old pages to the new homepage.
The more I think about it the more I think that this would be a bad move from a SE point of view. So I turn to you folks, the Search engine experts. Is this the best way to go about it or am I shooting myself in the foot?
Thanks for any and all input.
