Hi,
I've been hearing how dedicated IP's are recommended by search engines such as Google. The supposed logic is that if you are part of a shared IP, banned IP's within your shared IP can hurt your rankings. Is this true? My web host seems to think it isn't, but I'd like some other opinions. Thanks,
Enigmatix

Welcome Enigmatix!
I, myself prefer to have a dedicated IP but it is not necessary unless you will be using SSL to sell products (shopping cart, https/). Otherwise I have not seen search engines penalize one's site due to the fact that maybe they share an IP address with someone who is a spammer or something like that.
