My company is officially launching it's affiliate marketing program this Monday. I am looking for suggestions on launching an affiliate program. I already plan on doing things such as posting on craigslist, issuing a press release, and posting on other forums. What else would you consider doing in order to make your affiliate marketing program a success and receive as many quality affiliate sign-ups as you can?

I've never launched and affiliate program before but I would think directly contacting some of the more popular bloggers in your niche would help.

First and foremost, make sure you've got plenty of support information available for your affiliates. Graphics they can use, marketing messages, an email address they can contact if they have questions, etc, etc.

Then you can start looking for affiliates.

This is always worthy of a press release (maybe 2 - your broker co. too?) and dedicated pages on your website where visitors would 'land' (I foresee A/B testing too)

Also, the Broker or Managing firm should have roll-out plans or announcements as well (like to all their affiliates + a front page announcement for a week or so) - where their current affiliates log-in would be great.

Of course you could also find the top affiliates for a competitive or similar product online and contact them directly too, these individuals are always seeking new and hot opportunities to drive qualified traffic to - Especially if the program offerings are comparable or better. Who gets your potential customer right now? You can find them easy enough - Whether a firm or an individual website - I think they are always open to new joint ventures.

Good luck with that -

- Scott
