From the guidelines --
QUOTE
You may post links (if you're an active member) only where appropriate to the subject at hand. Affiliate links must be first approved by an administrator, or be official High Rankings affiliate links. From time to time an administrator may post affiliate links to help cover the costs of the forum. These may or may not be labeled as such.

How do I get administrator approval?

I was replying to a post about a mailing list service and wanted to provide a link to the provider. I happen to be an affiliate. Is this against guidelines? Something in the back of my head thought, 'maybe not accepted', then I checked the guidelines. I didn't just add it in order to promote the product it was exactly what the person was looking for.

Should I change it to the general link?

Regards, Ann (trying to be a good poster)

Sorry, it pretty much is against the guidelines although I do see that our old Forum Rules aren't very clear on that.

For the most part, I'd probably only allow moderators to post an affiliate link to keep spamming at bay.
