Do anyone know a way for us to monitor and be alerted to someone buying a domain (any TLD from across the world) with an company trademark? For example, if someone bought mycompany.cc - how could we be alerted to it happening?

hmm...
I believe DomainTools.com includes such a service in their membership package Jaan, though I don't know what it costs. At least I remember reading it some time ago.
The reason it struck a chord with me is when I looked for options I couldn't find anybody else offering such a service and it would be relatively easy to set up. It's something I could whip up in literally a day using a simple database to save user info and a slightly modified version of the WhoIs tool I've had and made available for free for years. Then just have the script run on a cron job to send out mail, with daily, weekly or monthly updates.
I guess I'll have to get back to thinking about that one someday soon while I'm taking my normal 6 week hiatus from real work during the Christmas and New Years holidays, hunh?
If it's not something you need pronto I'd love to have a guinea pig. I really will get around to building what's needed sometime over the next month or two. And of course I'll make it free for ya.
For the uninitiated this is what I do to earn a living. As I travel around the 'net I identify markets where a need exists, even if they're tiny markets, and build the systems to fulfill the need. The problem being there are too many good ideas with basically zero competition and not nearly enough hours in the day. So my potential list of target markets is constantly growing and my time to do something with the idea is ever shrinking.
