I have assembled a list of about 15 various social media sites including a couple new/article posting sites; it takes a bit of a bit to get acquainted with each. They have different functionality, different market targets. With some you post pictures, videos, can add short daily entries, etc.

With most once you have figured out the format you can post either a personal/business website link or a list of links which could include some lazy clients' sites.

Yes I know search engines give greatest weight to related links. However I am wondering if for those link-challenged clients that these are better than nothing at all?

Anything is always better than nothing at all.

Assuming the links appear on pages that get spidered, at the very least it should help to get the process started. They probably still won't rank well for their chosen phrases, but the first step in the process is to get your site spidered. So for this very lmited purpose it might help.

it is always worth testing a 'big if'. i'll check to see if the links in the comments and lists get spidered when i'm awake again in a couple weeks. sometimes you just gotta know. -bob
