I have read a lot about PR of the back-links and its association with making your site rank high on search engines. Some say that PR is very important and should be given consideration while choosing the sites to link to. But what happens if the PR3 page that links me has 100's of links on it? Are Links from pages with relevant content more beneficial than these?

While going for links PR is taken into consideration. But if the page consists of 100's of link do not link exchange with the website that it will not help at all. You will not get any benefited bv the web page.
