A site that I am doing SEO for them is searching for a solution to their Google Base Feed problem. The problem is like this:
They have over 50,000 products in their Google Base feed, and have been having their feed live for over 3 years. They are seeing that their competiotrs are showing up more frequent in the Google Base results than them. Does any one know where I can read up on how to get your Google Base Feed to perform better?
Thanks all for your help!
Susan

The only thing I've ever used Google Base or the old Froogle feeds for are those very specific product searches Susan. And from what I've seen those seem to key pretty strongly on the Title of the product being on the product page and in the feed data.
It's not something I've studied much though, since in my world the Google Base feed becomes almost an after thought, done simply because it's so darned easy to construct a feed.

Thanks Randy for your help.
The fact that this is an after thought to SOEs has made me post it on the forum. GoogleBase is a good source for visitors and not too much information is avalable on how to enahance and get your products to rank better on Google Base. I would appreciate if anyone with experiance on this can share their advice with me and all other Forum Members.

I have been struggling to improve rankings on Base myself and there are a few things that I have found that may be of benefit.
Titles are of course important, so make sure you have your keywords represented in a natural way.
Base takes snippets from the product page, so make sure that your product descriptions have your primary keywords as close to the top as possible.
I have noticed that products with reviews tend to rise to the top all other things being equal. Google aggregates reviews from G Checkout, shopzilla, nextag and others.
Hope that helps.
