When i took over managing my family company’s website it was in a framed format and not being indexed by Google, it needed a re-vamp so i recreated the site with some new elements in a Table Layout format (i was told that was best and was using DW MX at the time) .

Now i have DW CS3 and i have discovered that my old site has some serious flaws in its design and needs to be re-vamped again <removed> and <removed>.

Now my question is what is the best SEO friendly way to build a site, the easiest to me looks like AP DIV, and i am told that as long as i put the AP DIV positioning details in a Style sheet it should be Google friendly, so i am told, although i will need to find out how to do that if you guys agree.

if you have any hlp on this or any tips for me to not fall into and pitfall so i dont have to re-design again after this one i would be very grateful.

Regards

Gemma

Neither Tables or Divs are more search engine friendly. Both are okay if coded correctly.

As to your questions in the posts on other forums, forget Meta Tags. The only one of those that might be useful is the Meta Description, and that only minimally. All the rest of the meta tags are either ignored or not necessary.

PR ... Forget about that too. Toolbar PageRank is a useless metric.

Some reading for you to get you up to speed.

1. For site design issues, read through some posts in this area as Chris already suggested.
2. On the PageRank question see this thread
3. Read and absorb the Tips for Newbies
4. Read the pinned posts at the top of each area of the forums. They're pinned for a reason.

Also read the Forum Rules and you'll see why we're not doing a site review at this point. Decent site reviews take a good amount of time and expertise, so are reserved for Active members of HRF. That said, without even digging into your site I can tell you there are some issues that should be resolved to make your site the best it can be. So before you fly off and start another redesign it would be wise to hang around a bit, read the things mentioned above, ask questions, participate where you can and become an active member of the forums. A site review would probably serve you well.
