Has anyone heard of the term siloing? The company I work for is in the process of restructuring our website. I'm talking a total overhaul...design, content, information architecture, the whole nine yards. Recently I heard about siloing and how it can help extremely with search engine ranking if done correctly. Has anyone used this technique? (which is not new by any means) If so, did you use virtual siloing or directory siloing?
I'd be interested to hear everyone's input on this topic.
Thanks in advance!!

Oh yes, another magical process to distract you from doing anything really useful.
Forget Search Engines! Build a navigation that makes sense to REAL users. It will serve you much better in the long run.

Siloing simply means creating a hierarchical site architecture.
If you read through our posts in the internal linking section (where I'm moving this) you should get some more info.
