Should I Submit My Blog Separately From My Main Site?
Posted 12 June 2008 - 09:31 AM
I have a website and I also have a wordpress blog located at mywebsitename / blog. I have had the website for years and it has a PR of 3. I added the blog about two months ago and it has a small but growing number of posts. There is a link to blog from our website main page and the link is displayed as "Articles" rather than "Blog" but I don't think that matters for purposes of this question.
The question is this: is there any reason from an SEO standpoint to submit the blog as a stand-alone submission, sitemap and all, to Google? From what I can tell, Google already has indexed the blog pages under the website itself... at least it looks to me like it has done so because the blog pages are listed in the results page when I google our website name with the "site:" prefix before the website name.
Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this and for responding. I appreciate your help.
