Just saw this quote, which sums up my thoughts about SEO:

Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious [SEO] books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. That seems a bit complex for Bhudda, he must have been in a scientific mood that day.
Does apply to SEO though.

I think there is far too much hear say in the industry at the moment, especially being encourage by forums like digital point. Really starting to effect teh quality of SEO and the net in general.
