I do wonder who is the typical user for Metacrawler and Dogpile. Since I work mainly with major manufacturers that target the average homeowners I do wonder if the average homeowner would ever use Metacrawler or Dogpile. Any thoughts?
I also wonder how their interfaces filter the results, especially after reading this:
"The current MetaCrawler product is designed to identify the intent of a user's search. If the search term (i.e. buy roses) is determined to be commercial in nature, a blended mix of results weighted towards sponsored results would be displayed. In the case of a noncommercial term (i.e. roses and aphids), the blended mix of results would be weighted towards research-driven results."
I am anxious to see how this compares to the manufacturers actual log files, which I will checkout will review in a couple of weeks.
