I am thinking of adding links on a large site to google's custom search box - with anchor text links linked to keyword searches.
As a way of delivering search queries that doesn't put a load on my server - and also to bring focused visitors to the adsense that shows on google custom search page.
Someone mentioned that is against TOS to link directly to search results? Can anyone clarify if this includes the above, or even if it is infact the case at all?
Thanks

You are talking about a link like this?
I would be surprised if they did. Just to be sure I've had a quick read of Google's TOS and I couldn't find anything saying you can't link to their results.
From Google's TOS:
Image the number of trees needed if you printed out the TOS of every website you visit! Google's not being very eco friendly there.
Disclaimer I'm not a lawyer, you should consult one blah blah blah.
Edit: I type to slow

On a test site I notice that very quickly site: brings up large numbers of listing such as
www.mydomainname.com/search_results.php?cx=007087360930151625298:wnmpeqjlsug&cof=FORID:11&q=fo - 6k -
I have added a robots.txt just incase Google doesn't like it.
