Basic Keyword Research Article

This is my first article. It may be a little basic, and on the small side, but I thought I'd start on a small scale.
Any constructive comments are appreciated:

The article doesn't really seem to be about "researching" keywords at all, but more about brainstorming them.
Brainstorming them is only the start, and really is no good without some research to back it up.
You need to add another paragraph or two about what to do with the brainstormed keywords, imo.

I agree with Jill. That's a great start but you need to discuss the actual research...finding out what keywords people are 'actually' using to search.

Thanks for the feedback. I think you're both absolutely correct and to call it 'keyword research' perhaps does mislead. Perhaps I should rename it 'Introduction to Keyword Research' - as surely coming up with a list of potential keywords is the first step in any research plan?
I was planning to write another article that deals primarily with what you term to be 'research', to follow on from my initial effort. In that I plan to mention WordTracker - though in my opinion this may not be as useful for UK businesses as it is for US businesses (for example, mobile phone v cell phone). That is not to say, however, that it is not a useful resource to use. Also, Overture's keyword tool deserves a mention.
In the 'Introduction to Keyword Research' article I also think I'll mention the electronic ways of brainstorming - such as Google Sandbox, WordTracker and Overture which should act as a good introduction to the above second article.

I would call it something like the stages of successful keyword research, and then break it down (as you have done) into pre research, research, numeration and application.

I've made some changes and added a few more resources to it.
