Hello.

I guess I am creating this thread in continuation of Article Submission: Yes or No. (www.highrankings.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=35273)

I have heard great results from webmasters who write articles and submit them to hundreds to thousands of web directories; examples include keyword rankings going on and traffic going up.

I am wondering the basic question, in connection with some more advanced questions: is article directory submission worth it?. I'd like to know the gains - the pro's and con's of article directory submission.

From an SEO-guru or "expert" point-of-view, I'd like to know information and advice about article directory submissions:
- How many article sites are actually worth to submit to, and what are those (URLs?) to those article submission sites?
- How many unique articles should be submitted to each article directory?
- What are the penalties of submitting the same article to multiple article directories? Should each article be unique that you submit or what? (Obviously duplicate content penalties suck.)
- How many articles to submit to each article directory is "enough"?

An alternative question that I have for myself, when this thread receives proper replies and answers, will be whether or not it will be worth it to purchase article directory submission service, and how many submissions I should do (I have the option for 100 to 750 article sites to submit my article to).

Please try and answer all of my questions asked within this thread with as much information and references as possible. smile.gif
Thank you.

I think the thread you refrenced pretty much says it all. Do we really need another on the same topic?

Maybe it may answer my basic question but not in great detail...I am asking specific questions to conclude whether or not it's worth it for me.

The answer to your questions depends primarily on what result you expect to get.

How well you do toward attaining those results depends on what your topic is, how well you write, what you write about... in other words, it's up to you.

You're looking for a formula. The problem is, there are no formulas.

We can tell you about our experiences and offer general advice -- which is exactly what the other existing thread is already doing. Beyond that, you simply need to try it and see what happens.

(By the way, there is no duplicate content penalty. It's a filter.)

I suppose I would be doing it to gain backlinks...is it effective?

If you're good at it or can afford to hire someone who is, it can work very well. If not, it can be an enormous waste of time.

The only way you can tell whether it will work for you is to try it and see.

You're looking for definitive answers to questions only you can answer. I'm closing this one, because from here on out it's just going to go around in circles.
