hi,

I have recently read about writing articles on your web site can be a good marketing tool. This seems to make sense. But I am aware there are article directories about. Have people found these to be useful in encouraging traffic to thier sites?

As with most things in marketing, It Depends.

If you have or can produce articles that are a valuable resource to real people they can certainly have a positive effect. Not only in building qualified, quality traffic to your web site, but also in building your brand.

On the other hand if you approach article marketing primarily from the perspective of trying to gain traffic --as opposed to putting good information out there for real users-- you'll end up wasting your time. There are so many completely crap articles out there these days that peoples bs filters tend to be set at a pretty high level.

Write your articles to benefit real people, then do the work to get them disseminated as widely to your target audience as possible. You'll see positive movement across the board as long as you keep your focus in the right place.

It used to be good when people wrote articles for the sake of helping others. These days everyone is just writing them for ulterior motives, which never seems to work as well.

Basically, you can't fake real.

Hi louandel, article writing is an effective way of getting traffic. The main thing is that the articles need to be informative and the keywords (the words that appeal to your site) must provide a link to the site you are looking to promote. There are 2 ways to get there.....a manual submission and a submission by software.

A manual submission is the way i prefer...as there is nothing better than a human going to make your task.

Hi Mikenet

I am starting to focus on article marketing having tried PPC for a while. Just wondering how many article directories do not normally submit to? Do you submit to article directory which is having PR at least 5 and above?
