I'm going to create a blog in which I'll write about topics related to my company's work (the elder care industry). In terms of SEO results (enhancing my website's rankings on Google) where is it best for the blog to appear, within my site, or elsewhere (actually, I have already started it on google's blogger.com)?

If the answer is that it's best to have it "on" my website, how can I accomplish that? Are there blog service providers whose content can be embedded in my css-based PHP-driven website?
