Hello All, new to the forum and I'm glad I found it. I found it through a Google search so I know it works. notworthy.gif

I have a simple question and I did a search but could not find an answer. I create a lot, actually most of my websites using CSS. When I first started creating websites and used tables it seemed like more of my pages were being indexed by Google. It took longer back then but they were indexed none-the-less.

Now that I'm using more pure CSS for my sites, they don't seem to be getting indexed as much or ranked as high as the pages I created the old fashioned way with tables.

So the question I have is; How much does CSS actually affect my SEO and how should I develop the site if so. Should I embed the CSS into the page, create the styles in-line, or link a stylesheet? I create header tags in CSS because html header tags are as controllable as Britney Spear's attitude.

I REALLY look forward to becoming a member and getting a lot of valuable information from this forum. I'm glad I found it!

P.S. I finally got a site #1 in the natural listings for a very competitive industry and it even comes up above a site with that domain name being the actual search term. thumbup1.gif

CSS does not make your pages better nor worse for search engines.

It makes no difference whatsoever to them whether it's CSS, tables or something else. As long as they can index the content they're good to go.
