OK, I want to inrease traffic but do not want to spend time doing SEO (as it is a long process), is there any other method to get traffic in shortest possible time? I don't want to do PPC also. Please advise.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but if you're not willing to put in the time to properly optimize your existing site and/or pay the money to advertise it, the last thing you need to be doing is starting a blog. The blogosphere is already overrun with crappy, low-value blogs started by people who thought a blog was a magic ticket to overnight success.
As Chris said, blogging is not an "SEO task." Blogging is a means of starting a dialog with your audience. To do it effectively takes as much work (or more) and as much time (or more) as it would to optimize a "regular" website. If you're thinking blogging is simply some kind of shortcut to traffic, please put that notion right out of your head. It doesn't work that way, my friend.
Bottom line, you will have to invest your time or your money (or both) if you want to be successful online.
Invest nothing, get nothing in return. There ain't no free lunch.

If you don't have something of value to offer with your blog, your time and money (or lack thereof as you mentioned) should be spent working on improving your actual site.
Why get sidetracked on the additional upkeep of a blog when it appears you don't have time to improve upon your web site as it is?
I have some
SEO is a little more complicated that that...too bad though, I could really make some money with those.
