Hello,

Our site got indexed by Google for the first time around Nov. 1 , 2007.

My understanding is that new sites could sit in the Google aging filter for 6-8 months.

As we are approaching the 6th month, I was wondering if this time frame is still relevant, or if the aging filter is deemed to be longer than previously estimated.

We have around 800 incoming links to our main page with our targeted anchor texts which we would like to rank for (as indicated by Yahoo linkdomain tool).

I am keeping my fingers crossed, but I'd like to know your opinion on this and suggestions if possible.

Thanks,
Rob

How are you sitting in the rankings thus far? I have seen brand new sites rank for terms in the top 10 after a couple weeks. However with more competitive terms; often times spammy sites try and jump right to the top which is seen by Google and thus harder to quickly rank.

I see that you have listed the Yahoo link:domain tool, do you have Google Webmaster Tools setup?

Some other questions you might want to ask yourself...

How frequently is your homepage being cached by Google?

Are you effectively using title tags?

Are you building "Quality links to your site"?
