I wonder about basic honest old fashion link excange- doing it with a site that helps his and yours visitors, and with only a few of those ( no more then ten).

is it still valued? should i do it in a less direct way and if so then which?

keep in mind that we are talking of true value for users from both sites, and in account reciprocal links such as these should be regarded quite highly.

but maybe even the right thing is less valued in our late decadent seo days.

As I just posted in another thread on this topic, as long as you're only linking to other sites that provide value to your users, then there's nothing wrong with reciprocal linking.

Whether or not they provide SEO value is irrelevant. Just think of it as a bonus if it in fact does, and don't worry about it if it in fact doesn't.

And yet, I have only a handful of links that will be on the website and I want to make the most out of them. I believe that if do mutual linking, a natural thing to do in the web, it will go well with Google. I just want to be sure to some extent before I sent request, because I have other sites and I can do linking by many paths.
