What worried me about the advert was they were basically saying ,
Whoa, so this social network everyone knows is purely a 'personal profiling' and 'info gathering' tool for selling targeted advertising.
Now, they are pushing it out onto the iPhone, this made me think....(what with the pop up thread going on about the internet just becoming one big advertising space).
How close are they to utilising the GPS in a mobile phone, integrated with your facebook profile and your G! toolbar history of purchased products and visited websites.
So there you are walking down the road, you hear a beep in your pocket, you pull out your iPhone and there on the screen is an advert for the 'Surf Shack' offering 1/2 price board wax!, you actually bought a wet suit from them 6 months ago online, and your Facebook profile has all about your surfing hobby!
You look back up and low and behold what shop do you happen to walk past, yep it's the 'Surf Shack' shop.
Now I don't know if it's here yet, but the technology certainly is and I tell you what, this is something that I find extremely worrying.
So anyone else see this as the next step to turn us all into consumer zombies, or is it me being paranoid?
