Can Meta Tags Be Used In Dynamic Sites Like Coldfusion

It's been awhile since I worked in CF, but when I did I used CFINCLUDE to pull meta data into each page. Then in this CFINCLUDE file I used CFSWITCH and CFCASE to determine which page got which data in which tags. It was all pegged to a url variable, so I could edit my CFINCLUDE file if I needed to change the meta data for any individual page.
I'm sure there are other ways of doing it though.

There's a way to do it and it's not hard. But whether you can do it with the clients sites or not is going to depend entirely upon how they're coded.

<cfset attributes.title = getItem.title>
<cfset attributes.metadescription = left(getItem.description, 500)>
Then, when the layout loads it does a check like this:
<meta name="description" content="#attributes.metadescription#">
<meta name="description" content="DEFAULT DESCRIPTION">
We try to set descriptions for every page to avoid duplication.
