Searching Google Where's Jeeves?

When you're only the fifth-biggest search service and have a reputation for bad searches, whom do you blame? The butler, of course. The Emeryville, Calif.-based Ask Jeeves is canning its once-ubiquitous pinstriped Brit butler from advertising after four years.

Interesting story.

I remember talking with the guys from Ask Jeeves in Boston two years ago, after they aquired Teoma. They were pretty jazzed about Teoma, but not even they liked the butler image. They were saying things like "this isn't your gandmother's Ask Jeeves." I figured then that it was only a matter of time until the butler was killed off.

Poor Guy.

Says, Jeeves will still be on the logo of the site, so he's not quite trashed...
