Hello,

I will launch a surf project soon. I have researched and created a list of potential link partners or sites, which probably will link to my site since its "unique" compared to many related sites.

I wonder what google would say if I get backlinks pretty much the same day from all the sites? Is it better to send like 10 emails out per week or simply send all the same day?

Any input is appreciated!

Best Regards,
Jonas

It depends a bit on the number of links you are talking about. If you are talking about a few dozen, I would sent them out all at once. If you are talking about 100s or even 1000s ... do it gradually.

Hello,

Not sure what you mean by "surf project"?

But I agree with the other poster, go ahead and send them out. Unless you are doing hundreds/thousands at a time, they will trickle in anyway.

I see you feel strongly that you'll get a lot of links back. I hope you do, good luck ... but that has not been my experience over the years. I've done a lot of reciprocal requests and you get a small percentage back.

Keep us posted on your results.

The best results come from highly targeted contacts. Call on the phone if possible.

1 good link is 55 times better than a second, poor link.
So you may as well spend 55 times more effort.

Thanks for the replies!

By surf project I mean the sport surfing - not some kind of auto surf or any spam.

Yes, Im pretty confident since I have a quite large advertising budget so I can offer traffic in return for a quality backlink.

Now I have 43 hand picked related sites - about 10 highly authorative in the surf business.

One additional remark ... please make the emails PERSONAL, or at least as personal as possible. So do not make one email that you send of to all.

YES,

Very good point. When I send out a request I always get the persons name and www.domain.com in the SUBJECT line.

Then continue to keep it personal ... and "short and sweet" ... inside the email.

With a personalized subject the person may even open the email or at least notice it in the junk folder.

Gotta get all the edge you can.

Jonas,

If the media (New York Times) makes a big story about your new website, and suddenly you get 5.000 one way links in one day, what then? Do you really think google and others will kick your A.. ? I dont think so.

Weblink, no Google would consider it as natural since its one way links - I dont link back to those 5000 sites. What Im asking is two way link exchanges.

How would ANY search engine "know" that you "got" 5000 links in one day?

1/ every site that gave your a link wouldn't put them up on the same day.

2/ the pages the links were on wouldn't be crawled on the same day. They might not even be indexed in the same month!

hi there

My first time here

I agree that new links take ages to be seen , but about the custom letter i have been doing links for about 6 years and i have sent out 2000 link requests at a time , and i've done custom personalized link requests and i found that a middle ground of
a few link links like sending out 300 in 1 day with a good letter seems to get the best result where individual link requests get a 5% response the other way get a 50 % reply rate

anybody else found it like this

Welcome Funday!

It's good to be back myself.

If these targeted and carefully chosen recipients find your content good enough for their visitors, they're more likely to consider your links.

Just send it over and afterwards promote your site through other means while waiting for their response.
