I'm wondering if i should implement removing the hyperlink from single post titles in WordPress, because it will only link to the current page anyways.
It kind of makes no sense to me.

This article displays a supposed Google suggestion why you shouldn't link the post title to the same page.
But as you can see the author of the blog doesn't even implement it on his own blog?

Do or Don't?

Thanks!

The article appears to be talking specifically about the Google News crawler, which is different from Googlebot.

If I understand your question correctly I rather doubt the article title linking is going to have any negative effect for Googlebot itself. I have no idea about the Google News bot since I don't do anything at all with that one. I've never heard them express any such problem however. And don't see how there can be much if any difference between having the Title provide a link as opposed to having a separate Permalink graphic or whatever that is exactly the same thing, sans the article title as anchor text.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it, it's a common design configuration.
