I think it helps. The update period (again I think) is measured in months, but is not consistent.

i dont know why SEO experts tell that if you get listed in DMOZ your traffic rewards are amaizing, my website was listed two weeks after i submited and i month has passed and nothing, so later i read that many sites updates their content from DMOZ including Google, so i decided to list my site into yahoo directory, i hope that helps to

D.R.,

Quit listening to "SEO experts" and start hanging out here. I hope these two listings help you out as well, but I wouldn't expect a lot of traffic to come pouring in from those directory listings. I myself have no problem with a DMOZ or Y! Directory listing. But you want to incite human eyes and human passion for your site. That's about quality content, networking, and hard work. You can't buy that stuff...

Lots of people believe things that aren't true. The problem is, they repeat these things as if they're proven, but they never bother testing, or even observing, whether their "beliefs" have any basis in fact. nono.gif

Many of us here have DMOZ listings for one site or another, as well as sites that do not have DMOZ listings. Those non-DMOZ sites rank as well for their keywords as sites that do have DMOZ listings. Further, we do not get any significant direct traffic from the DMOZ listings.

Therefore, we conclude based on actual observation (not simply our "belief") that DMOZ listings are not as all-powerful as some so-called experts claim. They're legitimate links, so they probably carry some value, but not as much as one might think.

You are free to "believe" whatever you want, but don't expect us to go along with it without proof. dntknw.gif

Thanks! But there is not necesary to remark my grammar mistake "believe" english is not my primary language, for other way we must take the advantage that DMOZ can give us plenty of backlinks.

putting quotes (") around a word (in forumspeak) usually means the poster is using that word metaphorically rather than correcting any grammatical error.

English (real English that is not the merrican version biggrin.gif) is an odd language to use and learn at best, so unless the meaning of the post is ambiguous or lost by a grammatical error we are not overly pedantic about perfect grammar. ......

Chris beat everyone to the punch!

Seriously, if you stick around here and read enough 'round these parts you'll see that lots of Myths of the so-called SEO Experts end up being debunked DR. As Torka said above, just because something is said and then repeated a thousand times doesn't make it a fact. So you need to be more careful in believing what you read on the 'Net, especially when it comes to SEO schtuff.

Thats why im here, im here to learn, other documents said : "If you dont have a i hight pagerank you'll never will ranked" or if you are not listed on google directory your not going to be ranked, but i'll realize thats not true, i have a web site music related, it have 0 pagerank but at my target keyword have the first place on google, also i have an artificial intelligence related website, it has the 18 place on google search, the first place at live.com, and it just have no more than 3 months, however i want to optimize it for another keywords with relevance on the subject, so im not here to discuss myths , im here to learn how the get a hight rank and that will give to my site more traffic, THATS WHY IM HERE, so you people here are Experts, i am not fighting with you i am just need you to show me the right path, and i will go to that direction.

Regards.
