I'm wondering if it would have a positive or negative effect if i would implement keyword anchor links for my navigation?
Example:
Hoodies
Long Sleeve Sweaters
And these would be terms i would want to rank for?
The thing that is nagging me in the back of my mind is the fact the more the site grows the more internal links will be carrying those exact anchor keywords, all exact match everytime and no variation.
Should for instance that tertiary keyword be a keyword combo i wish to rank for would it be a good decision to incorporate it in the navigation?
From a user point of view it makes perfect sense but from a SE point of view the sheer amount of exact anchor matches it eventually would add up to...perhaps set any red flags??
As it is advised to vary your incoming anchor keyword links in a link building campaign should i take this in consideration as well for internal links?
Thanks!

Why would it set off red flags? You're calling them what they are each and every time. To me if you change them up, that's what would set off red flags because then it's unnatural. The long sleeve sweaters are long sleeve sweaters so there's no reason to think of something else to call them. They are what they are.

True, that was just something that was boldering me...if you start to use to many exact anchor link keywords on your site.
Maybe i am seeing to much into it then i need to
Thanks for the reply Jill.

remember the reasons why the engines do what they do!

I general I think its good to use keywords commonly searched keywords & related terms. Remember that keywords also tell you how & why someone came to your site. If they have 'backyard barbeque' on their mind, 'outdoor stove' may not get their attention.
