Hello All,

I have been reading through this site for the past few days and just decided to join the community and start participating. May I brown nose the admin for a second and say, You're site is rich with quality information and is a great asset for any webmaster.

Now back to the topic at hand.... I have just launched a new site (within the last week) and I am already getting 20-30 organic hits from google. However, I would like to expand my exposure and increase ranking by exchanging links. This is where I am starting to run into problems. I've found only 3 link directories that are similar to my niche that actually have a PR (which I've linked with already), but I was hoping to try gain a few more link partners. I've heard that I can write articles and post them to article directories with a link back to my site at thebottom of the content. What are your experiences with this? Does this help more thank reciprocal links?

You don't have to be so focused on find reciprocal links. Ther are other ways to get traffic and links without necessarily doing a link exchange. Some will help with your SE rankings and others will help attract people of similar interests. Articles are one way. Another way is to look towards the social web sites such as del.icio.us or ma.gnolia.com. You can add your web site and tag them. Then join groups and share your bookmarks with members of similar interests.

There are lots of options depending on what your web site topic is. You can join groups in Google, Yahoo and MSN that are related to your web site with links in your signature. You can use press releases to announce your site, product, or service.

Welcome, Jonathan! bye1.gif

You'll want to read through some of the other threads in this reciprocal linking forum (where I'm moving this), and also the Tips for Newbies thread in general.
