Hello everyone,
I have been reading the postings for "Google: November Algo Update-dance". Did anyone ever figure out an answer or find a resolution to this situation? I have suffered a Page Rank plummet and listing disappearances as well. My website's high ranking has been strong since 1997. Ever since September of 2003, things have not been the same. I try often to make little changes to the site's text, etc and re-submit. At times the site might move up to #18, but then dissapears into oblivion. It's like the site is being weighted down. I've been waiting for things to change at Google, but the future seems so dim.

Any advice would be most appreaciated.

Yes, I did just see an improvement. My site moved from page 18 to page 3 under the most relevant keyword for the site. Sometimes these big jumps occur late in the Evening hours and then disappear. I did notice one development. Before the big upheaval at our favorite SERP there was a group of top 10 sites there that remained in place continuously. I just saw the number one site re-emerge from the shadows today. It appears that she totally re-designed her homepage. However, there was no relevant changes that coincide with all the optimization tips I keep hearing. Sometimes I think that the Googlebot just loves "new" and will go after anything new. However, the results can be fleeting. By the way, her site just dropped from page one to page two.
Best of Luck!

Yep! Back to page 18 again! Well, at least I know that others are out there! This forum is like a support group for SEO web masters affected by Google. I keep beating myself up wishing that there was some trick I could do to restore the ranking.

Okay so I wasn't crazy! Google must have been testing out a database when I caught it last night http://64.233.161.99/ All the awesome results are in that database still.

Well, my favorite site is back on page 1 (#6) for its most important kw phrase for the first time since November, and a client site has shown up for the first time ever for a kw other than their domain name... at #1 :embarrassed: It's been there for slightly over 24 hours now.

:D Hello!
Yes! I am pleased to report that my page has also stabilized (at least for today) on page three under the best keyword SERP for the site. It hasn't budged this much for at least 3 months! Again, I also noticed that the former #1 site under this keyword SERP was on page one yesterday and has moved onto page two, but this is still good news. It shows that one of the formerly high ranked sites is bubbling back up. At the same time, so is mine. I hope that it lasts!

I hope that the Google page rank fairy grants all of our wishes! :)

Vicki,
When I use the database you give there, I see all the changes...I don't on a regular search though.

Are you guys seeing these changes every where?

Remember, when you type in "www.google.com" you get sent to a (sort of) random datacenter for that "session". You may, (sort of) arbitrarily end up on the datacenter that happens to already have or is getting the current update. As time goes on and more datacenters update, the odds of hitting a datacenter that has already gotten the new stuff improves. This is why some people can report seeing it in normal results, but at this point, most don't. In a week, most will see the new stuff, but a few won't.

G.

Thanks G and Vicki!

I hope you are both correct =) The "updated" serps are looking MARVELOUS from my end. I never get my hopes up .... not with the way Google has bounced around, but you guys sound pretty positive.

Interesting - the http://64.233.161.99/ database is great for me - my main search phrase is right back at number one, where it rightfully belongs.

My other main phrase, however, shows the same junk as it has for the past two weeks.
