Facebook - It's Not Who You Would Expect
Posted 27 September 2007 - 10:15 AM
I've done myspace, got bored within a week and have never used it again. I have no urge to get a facebook account and find all these 'community' sites are nothing more than a way of the owners to sell advertising space and utilise 'Viral Marketing'.
Should i really be worried i'm not on the band wagon?

I've got a facebook and a hyves (dutch variant) account, not professional, but to keep in touch with relatives and friends abroad. Am also using linkedin professionally, through which I got one or two enquiries.
I'm keeping an eye on them for professional opportunities, but not seeing a lot happening that I could apply for my current clients.

Maybe myspace and facebook are planing on charging a membership fee once they got people reeled in just like Uboot did.
Personally , If some one needs to contact me they can email me or telephone, and if you don't have my email addy or phone number, then I probably don't want you to contact me anyhow

There are so many of these "networking/social" sites that "friends" have sent me invites to and I sign up up and never visit again
( I think it makes them feel better with a few friends or invited friends in their profiles )
If I feel like being "social" I'll just go to the pub
