Hey Guys,

I'm wondering if at all its i should buy links. I was under the impression that it was a big big no no, however i recently spoke to someone who works for an seo company, he said that they buy links on behalf of companies as part of their service. This got me thinking that there must be a way to do this which is more accepted??

If so which companies offer the best service/ quality links?

Thanks,

Make sure the links are relevant and preferably contextual. The botom line is that they should look like links the website owner might have put there anyway...just that he wants something for his efforts, which is fair.

It's fine to pay for advertising on other sites. Just keep in mind that those ads (links) may or may not pass link popularity and/or PageRank to your site.

I've bought links in the past and found them to be great for improving ranking - as long as they are very relevant. There are a couple of reputable text link brokers that you'll find when you google buy text links. like Jill said just be careful who and where you buy links from.

Someone who's in the business of buying links, like Debra Mastaler of Alliance Link is going to be a lot better than any text link brokering service. Most of them don't give a hoot about relevance- their categories are broad and their value is all about PR.

While PR is something to look at, the site's traffic and trust factor plus how many other links are on the page are also things to consider.

Why not search for relevant sites by searching "your keywords advertise" and "your keywords advertising" and see who you can find?

Wasn't there some heated discussion on this topic in San Jose? I recall a session where at least one panelist said, "Buy links, but do your own deals." The note I made then is that he said, "Anyone using a known broker is painting a bullseye on their site right now."

And that wasn't even the "Are Paid Links Evil" session!

Crystal, start by reading our Link Building Articles. You should get a few good ideas there. But first and foremost, you must have a great site that is different from the others who sell the same stuff you sell.

Sites that already attract people in your target audience.

Buy links for the amount of quality, pre-qualified traffic they can send you. Not for any perceived link pop value, because you may well get no link pop/pr value from those purchased links.
