i was wondering if there is a certain amount of link juice that i lose by having too many links on one single page. for instance, on our homepage we have three different navigation menus that basically link to the same pages. we have one at the top of the page, one in the sidebar, and one in the footer. i personally don't think it's necessary from a usability standpoint, but i also wanted to see if it is harming me as far as link juice is concerned.

No, I don't think there's any reason to believe that if you link to a page more than once from a given page it has any effect. The spider crawls the page and one of the things it finds is a link to page.htm, so it takes note of that. As it continues, it finds another link to page.htm, remembers that it already has one of those, and pays no attention to the second.

And I realize that's not exactly how things work, but anthropomorphizing bots makes it easier to talk about what they do. Most of this most likely takes place after the bot has grabbed the code from the page.
