Us Online Retail To Grow By 17%, To Influence 30%

U.S. online retail sales will reach $65 billion in 2004, and will continue to grow by a compound annual growth rate of 17% through 2008 to top $117 billion.
Jupiter Research's forecast projects that by 2008, nearly 30% of offline retail purchases will be influenced by research performed online.

I find that part (in particular) very interesting. It sounds like they're predicting that even more people will find product info "online" and then buy the product "offline". I have some notes and articles somewhere (I really need to look for them) regarding small B&M stores and companies, and how they utilize their online marketing efforts to bring local people to their business.
