Confusion About Adding A Forum To My Website

Hi,

I have a confusion about adding a forum to my website. Pleas tell me what will be better : add a directory named forum or i should make folder for forum...

I man to say that what will be better URL option to add a forum to a website:

www.forums.mydomain.com

or

www.mydomain.com/forums


please tell me for which I should go and why it will be better...

The url structure you use doesn't matter one iota. There is no difference as far as the search engines are concerned.

That said, I hope you have a good plan in place if you're going to start a forum. They take a significant amount of time and effort to build a forum into a useful resource. Don't build a forum just to build one or because you think the search engines will love it. You need a much, much better reason to even begin considering doing something like this.

As Randy said, doesn't matter. Put it where it makes sense for you.

Typically, a folder is fine unless you need a subdomain for some reason.

It is a matter of convenience actually. In the case of www.forums.mydomain.com you need to create the sub-domain and in the other case you can simply create a sub-folder and install the forum software there. From search engines point of view it doesn't matter. If your forum has interesting threads then it'll rank well anyway.
