I've posted this on another forum too because I am keen to hear from anyone else that has experienced it.

Just noticed in the past 24 hours that any ranking mission I run that checks any Yahoo Directory results comes back with no results, even when the domain is listed in and ranking well in the Directory. Yahoo Matches appear to be unaffected (because they are mainly Google results), I've only noticed the problem with Yahoo Directory results.

Has anyone else noticed this? Hmmm I wonder if Yahoo no longer supports automatic query software like WPG? ;)

I haven't checked this, but I'm guessing perhaps the Yahoo directory just changed their format. It often takes a few days or so for the automated software people to update the software accordingly when this happens.

Make sure you have the latest upgrade before running your next report and see if that helps.

I don't believe Yahoo can block the queries as it wouldn't know it was anything other than a browser.

Have you noticed any changes to the Yahoo! query form? Usually there are hidden fields which are used to block remote queries. When I was using WPG and just let it run it's course without adding the updates it progressively returned fewer and fewer results. WPG are generally pretty good with updating the agent to get around the changes. I believe I have the old parameters around somewhere it'd be neat to see what Yahoo! changed.

Yeah, but I've not noticed a format change for the Yahoo Directory for over a year, so it struck me as strange. I check for new updates every run of WPG so this is very recent. I've asked the WPG team for an explanation so if they respond with something interesting, I'll post it here. Maybe Yahoo are making major changes to their database in light of the Overture/Inktomi purchases ;)
