other than pr.com and prweb.com, what are good ways to post information about new products? we sell collectibles, and when we get a license we really develop cool stuff.
Should I be using digg and del.icio.us? I don't know much about them. Any others? I know I can't spam forums.
I can post the press release on my site, but that isn't going to have as much SEO value. Thanks!

Develop relationships with journalists, bloggers and website owners in your marketspace. Give them advance notice of new products, maybe a "sneak peek" at what you've got coming out. Lots of "industry experts" rely on relationships with the corporate players in the field to help maintain their aura of being privy to "insider information." Assist helpful writers to gain that "insider" status and they're likely to reward you with editorial content about your new products.
As Betty mentioned, direct advertising and/or "article placement" on sites that are frequented by your target audience. If appropriate, offline advertising (radio, TV, print, billboard). Don't neglect crossover appeal -- clever billboards often get photographed and posted on websites, for instance, and unusual online marketing campaigns sometimes even get mentioned on the TV news, so if you make your ads appealing enough, they may turn into editorial content elsewhere.
Depending on what kinds of products you offer, could you get on one of those "morning talk shows?"
Depending on your budget, it might be helpful to hire a PR consultant or agency to help you come up with an implement various ideas.
