Probably been asked before but can anyone point me in the right direction for techniques/ methods for finding authority sites and hubs? Any links would be appreciated smile.gif

Teoma used to be very useful for that, but it is no more.

Try looking for professional organizations, niche directories, that sort of thing. Go to a major directory like the ODP and look for sites that are listed under more general categories of which your site's listing would be in a subcat.

For example, say you're promoting a local film society. It would probably belong at Arts: Movies: Organizations: Film Societies: United States. Go up a couple of levels from there, to Arts: Movies: Organizations and you'll probably find sites that could link to you, or perhaps that are linked to from some good resources.

It's not going to do you much good. The search engines are not nearly as in love with "hubs" and "authorities" as SEOs. If you're looking for linking sources, try looking for sites that other SEOs are not finding through these cheap "feel good" tools.

It's surprising how many topics have no authorities or hubs. There's lot of opportunity out there to be the information-gatherer for your industry, and a lot of benefit to it as well.

Absolutely Scottie! People can often build good hubs with a little effort.
