You and Amabaie have basically the same thought, radomization. But this strategy is not new. Has there been a defined correlation exhibiting a greater benefit to having equal out going and incoming non reciprocating links versus an equal number of themed recips? If there has been a study I would love to read it.
There has been some discussion re weight placed on out going site topic relevant links. But, as far as I have read it is still all conjecture.

It's not my idea! Just trying to figure out what Lee is getting at.
Unless I had 100% control over the links going out from my page, I would not even consider such a system. That would be the absolute pre-deal breaker. Beyond that, I would have to see more details before making any further comment.

Eventually as search engines get smarter they will be able to examine beyond the liniarity of a single link. Setting up a directory which will be used to send reciprical links to another site may be effective in the short term, but eventuall increased processor power and more advanced algorithms will treat such linking systems in a way similar to recip links.
