Why do AdWords? That doesn;t help with SEo either

I agree with PHP. If you are in the B2B market, business.com acts very much similar to adwords, but with a more targeted audience. They have some decent audience data from Nielson on thier site that you can check out to see if thier audience is in line with your target market.
I would not recommend a listing from BDC for $200 a year, but rather spend some cash on their PPC services if you want to see any real return on your investment with BDC

This is exactly why I didn't purchase a directory listing with them. We're not at the point to using PPC but they would be at the top of a very short list to leverage when we decide to go that route.

Well, I like it as a directory. Nice, clean text links to internal pages can be very important, and for a lot of sites they're pretty hard to get.
