i went ahead and installed the free version of funnel web log analyser on my pc; its bloody great! a nice graphical interface, and easy-peasy log upload process and multiple report formats - wow!

i was wondering if there were any funnel web experts that could give me a 'top 5' of 'things which can be gleamed from funnel web'?!
i.e. what areas can tell me the most about my site and what results would be an indicator of further optimisation needed?

Glad you got FW up and running!

I generally look at the following items in FW...

1st) General Traffic
I usually check "Unique Visitors" and then head to "Traffic Statistics" I then take a look at "One-time visitors" and "Repeat visitors" I like to see how many users are coming back

2nd)Server Preview - Pages
I then take a look at what pages the users are entering the site on and what pages the users are exiting on. This is a good way to tell what your hot and cold sections are.

3rd)Marketing Preview: Time Online
How much time are the users spending on the site, I'm never satisfied with the numbers lol It makes me turn up the heat and build better content or create new interesting sections.

4th)Referrals - Preview: Referral Sites and Search Terms
I'm sometimes pleasantly surprised by this chart, great way to see if your link building is paying off! and of course...Search Terms!

I usually open up marketleap.com and check rankings using the search terms people hit the site with.

5th)Systems - Robots
To make sure the spiders are hitting the site
