For anyone who's coming in late and just now starting to play along at home. Here is a list of Yahoo's Search Engine Properties:
Inktomi, Overture, AllTheWeb, and AltaVista.
As it's set up, Yahoo hasn't slapped their brand on any of these properties (though if you look at the corporate pages of each, you can follow a trail back to yahoo).
And yes - it is frustrating trying to see how this mystery batch is working because it's only there once in a while. I've given up, for now.

For awhile Ive tried to find good help on getting better results in INK, too bad everyone else will now as well with the importance of it going way up with Yahoo tossing its algo all over the place.
I was just a wee bit late to this party :)

-After a few more Inktomi searches I would have to say that Google on a bad day is still a real good SE. AltaVista seems a bit better. Its the placement of the Sponsored ads that really kills it. ---Might as well rename it MSN.com.

I can't imagine owning some of the way cool technologies (most evident on the Alltheweb site) and not using them. I can imagine that INK has a better and more recognizable "brand" than the others and that that would be the "name" to slap on whatever solution they come up with.
